The music of Johann Sebastian Bach is like the Fountain of Eternal Youth from which everyone wishes to drink at least once. Three centuries after his death, the eternal musician continues to inspire new generations. Consequently, his Violin Partita No. 2 serves as a clear starting point for this program. After a concert featuring Bach's Sonatas and Partitas, Eugène Ysaÿe had an epiphany: why not write a new work in which the techniques of the moment are virtuously displayed? Kaija Saariaho referenced this even more explicitly with *Fries*, a 2012 work for violin and electronics that seamlessly connects to the final notes of the Violin Partita No. 2. We are curious to see how Anders Hillborg draws inspiration from Bach in his commissioned work for the Swedish violinist Ava Bahari, one of the promising ECHO Rising Stars this season.

Ava Bahari has been named a Rising Star for the '26-'27 season by Konserthuset Stockholm, the Cité de la musique - Philharmonie de Paris, and NOSPR Katowice within the framework of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) network. During her European tour, the artist has been invited to perform at Bozar and give a private concert for the residents of the Kleine Kasteeltje (a refugee arrival center), in collaboration with the associations Fedasil and Orfeo .
