A young person tests his dreams against reality in a world where ambition alone is not enough to make it and where “everyone inflexibly does their own thing.” But there are many obstacles: “even the beauty of heaven seems sad,” because “to be respected, I must seem rich.”
In five steps (The Call – The Disillusionment – The Fall – The Silence – The Awakening), young Carolo rapper Luca Latte outlines how a young person must find his place without sliding into anger or cynicism.
Contemporary dance, hip-hop, rap, singing, and beatmaking drive the energy of this urgent search for meaning. The creation came about in collaboration with Jeunesses Musicales of Brussels during Studio PBA in Charleroi. Faced with the illusions and social anger of a young person who “understands our shortcomings better thanks to Bourdieu,” questions arise such as: what is “success” actually? Where does “happiness” begin, and whose is it?
