Once upon a time... or rather, once upon a future yet to come there lived a human being who had lost all five senses. This concert tells his story. In five tableaux, we follow his search and his attempts to recover each of the senses. For every sense that has been lost is also “a sense of purpose”: a source of meaning, an gateway to the world, another way of understanding it.
In five chapters, this unusual concert brings music and fragrance together. Composer Apolline Jesupret and Namur perfumer Romain Pantoustier invited Ensemble Fractales, composers Daï Fujikura and Oren Boneh, and scenographer Thomas Delord to this project; they take us on a journey discovering the essence within perfume essences.
Synesthesia is a neurological phenomenon in which unusual connections in the brain cause a blending of the senses, usually between hearing and sight. Here you will be carried away by the immersive and poetic encounter between hearing and smell.
