NIGHT LIVES | Tjøgersen
Cikada Ensemble Botanique - Museum , Saint-Josse-ten-NoodeBats, animal sounds, and UV light: dive into an immersive opening night full of nocturnal nature sounds, followed by a DJ set.
Acoustic and electropop sounds, dancing bats, and ultraviolet light: welcome to Night Lives, where you'll discover the lives of species that sing in the dark and communicate on frequencies different from our own.
When the sun sets, a completely new world comes to life, a world about which most of us know virtually nothing. Although we share the same physical space with these beings, we rarely encounter them. Evolution has given them senses that humans lack: senses with which they control the night.
With the theme ARCTIC FEVER, Ars Musica 2026 takes its audience to the North. For this opening night, the Norwegian Cikada Ensemble opens up a sonic, visual, and olfactory journey conceived by Kristine Tjøgersen, this year's featured artist. A project that premiered triumphantly in Oslo in 2023.
Music, scenography, video, and scents come together and help us discover those animal species that see with sound... or listen with their sonar.
