Satie's Zapper
Les Brigittines - Chapel , BruxellesNow it's the electric guitar's turn to take on Erik Satie's work. A surprising reinterpretation with a contemporary jazz feel.
Erik Satie, works for electric guitar? This is the musical variation or transformation offered by Pierrejean Gaucher's Zappe Satie . A virtuoso guitarist, he presents an intimate reading of the composer of Musique d'ameublement. Sensitive to Erik Satie's unusual dissonances, his compositions revisit his universe, extending it into contemporary jazz, bordering on free jazz and fusion . An experiment in musical space, Zappe Satie also evokes, through its title and flashes of brilliance, the sonic explorations of Frank Zappa, a musician to whom Pierrejean Gaucher has already paid tribute.
