ÉCHOS D'ESSENCES (A SMELL CONCERT) | Concert for schools
Let yourself be carried away by a concert where music and scent merge into the ultimate immersive listening experience, with creations by Apolline Jesupret, Oren Boneh, and Dai Fujikura.
Once upon a time… or rather: someday, over the years, someone will lose his five senses. This concert tells his story: five scenes depict his quest and the attempts to regain his senses. For every lost sense is… “a sense of purpose”: a meaning, an access to the world, another way of understanding it.
In five chapters, this unusual concert brings music and scent together. Composer Apolline Jesupret and Namur perfumer Romain Pantoustier invited Ensemble Fractales, composers Daï Fujikura and Oren Boneh, and scenographer Thomas Delord to this project; they take us on a journey of discovery along 'essences' and their 'essences' …
Synesthesia is a neurological phenomenon in which unusual connections in the brain cause a blending of the senses, usually between hearing and sight. Let yourself be carried away here to an immersive and poetic encounter between hearing and smell!
